Project Summary
Water Heater Warehouse partnered with SoCalREN to replace 11 aging gas water heaters with 12 high-efficiency electric heat pump water heaters (HPWHs) across five UCI Health medical facilities, making UCI Health the first higher education institution to complete a project through SoCalREN's Rural-Hard-to-Reach (HTR) Direct Install Program.
By eliminating on-site fossil-fuel combustion and reducing energy use intensity, the new HPWHs support UCI Health's long-term decarbonization strategy while improving air quality and system reliability in critical healthcare facilities. Essential facilities, from family health clinics to neurology and women's health centers, now benefit from faster, more dependable hot-water delivery.
